The Karnataka Corrugated Box Manufacturers Association (KCBMA) was founded in 1979 by Mr. AL. Annamalai, alongside several other dedicated members. Originally an offshoot of the Southern India Corrugated Box Manufacturers Association (SICBMA), KCBMA is affiliated with the Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers (FCBM), the national body established in 1971. FCBM began with four regional associations: NICMA, WICMA, EICMA, and SICBMA. Over the past 50 years, the federation has expanded to include nine additional regional associations, formed either as offshoots of the original four or independently.
KCBMA, under the leadership of Mr. AL. Annamalai, hosted its first FCBM Conference in 1991, despite having a relatively small membership at the time. The conference was a memorable success. The second opportunity to host came in 2005, under Mr. Manohar Shetty’s leadership, and this event also achieved grand success.
Since then, KCBMA has grown significantly and is now recognized as one of the most active associations among the 13 regional groups. It has received accolades such as “The Best Association Award” and “The Best Technical Course Award.” Our team notably won the quiz competition at the Chennai Conference.
Additionally, our members have been honored for their contributions to various subcommittees at FCBM managing committee meetings. KCBMA has also provided financial support during natural calamities affecting members in other regions. Our members have taken an active role in the FCBM Managing Committee as Chairmen of various sub-committees and have been recognized for their exceptional contribution during their tenure.
Over the years, not only has the membership of the Association increased, but more importantly it has had the advantage of good leadership. KCBMA has had 15 Presidents who have actively led the body to its present heights.
At KCBMA, we prioritize the continuous development of our members. We conduct a minimum of three technical seminars annually for their benefit. Every alternate year, during our AGM, we organize a picnic to foster community spirit. We also arrange visits to paper mills every other year, having completed four such visits to date.
We are proud to announce that we will host the 52nd Annual FCBM Conference under the able leadership of our veteran Member and President-Elect Mr. T M Raghavan, in Bangalore in December 2024. This will be our third time hosting the conference, and we are committed to making it an exceptional event.
